A Rock and a Hard Place

It is apparent Americans are stuck in a rut; their lives have been displaced by economic destitution, violent wars and hardships unimaginable.  There is, however, a simple solution that has the potential to alter trials and tribulations of modern day life, and it starts with you.

Think for a moment. Take a deep breath. Close your eyes and relax. Recall this proverb, one you have most likely heard a cornucopia of times: “don’t cry over spilt milk”. Does this ring a bell? Let us try another: “do not see the glass as half empty, but rather, half full”. Well, it is time to live up to these proverbs and change our ways of thinking.

The key to returning to a sense of normalcy in our lives is by using the great powers of optimistic thinking. We must overlook our frustrations and hate, and see the world through different eyes. When we focus our energy and time on grieving over what we have lost, or griping about other’s poor decisions and pointing the blame for our miseries, we tend to miss the beauty in life. Nay, we do miss the beauty in life.

All the negative energy you release into the universe comes back in hordes, making situations dourer than they were previously. Trust me, I have experienced this several times throughout my life and have learned the hard way that complaining gets me nowhere.

It is time to change our attitudes. When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Don’t linger, stop whining about how the only item you possess is a lemon, do something proactive to convert the lemon into a delicious drink. By lemon I am referring to the bad situations we all face in our lives. We all must take those dreadful circumstances we are thrown into and instead of crying about them; we must convert them into something better.

Negativity is a choice, and the wrong one at that. If we all join together and count our blessings, adjust our attitudes and put smiles on our faces, the world will follow. We can become a revolution, and help make the world a better place.

So remember the proverbs you repeatedly heard throughout your life and think positive and optimistic thoughts; the universe will reward you.
